Inari Vachs Biography
In her own words, Inari Vachs has described her entry into the adult film industry as a “social experiment.” If this is true, consider this experiment a success.
Vachs – whose actress name comes from the Japanese rendition of a goddess, Inari, and her favorite author, Andrew Vachss – left the corporate world in 1997, at the age of 23, to “test the limits of her sexuality.” She respected the pioneering business practices of the adult film industry and set out to make her mark.
A savvy businesswoman, Vachs has done just that without ever signing a corporate contract. She is considered the leading independent female performer in the adult film industry. Despite going without studio representation, Vachs has had much success in her career, including an XRCO Award for Female Performer of the Year in 1999 and an AVN Award for Female Performer of the Year in 2000. Inari Vachs has also had a PlayboyTV show. There is an Inari Vachs action figure, as well as a line of sex toys. She is an ardent sexual feminist, and has enjoyed a successful career without ever compromising her ideals.
Vachs left performance in 2003 to run her own production and promotion company, IV Multimedia. She continued doing feature appearances worldwide, as a performer and also as a speaker on the business of the adult film industry. Inari Vachs, born to humble beginnings in the state of Michigan, moved from Los Angeles to beautiful Costa Rica, where she operated her business ventures and prepared to re-launch her celebrity in the form of Pacific Coast Pirates (PcP Industries), a record label, promotion and production company, marketing firm, and, in Vachs’ words, an “overall revolution of the current entertainment industries and the gears that move ‘em.” If you had to make a list of the many traits of Inari Vachs, bright, gorgeous, motivated, sexy, and independent would all share top billing.
